Gift card donations needed for Black Forest Fire victims
DENVER—After destroying more than 500 homes and taking two lives, the Black Forest Fire is Colorado’s most destructive fire in history. Since the fire began, state Rep. Amy Stephens, R-Monument, has worked with first responders, aid organizations and volunteers to assist evacuees from the fire. "Our community has suffered huge losses and has received even greater support from people across Colorado,” Stephens said."Thank you to everyone, for your thoughts, prayers and generous support for those affected by this horrible tragedy.”
Stephens added: "Gift cards greatly help as people move into temporary housing and need those everyday things we take for granted. Any amount helps.”
Stephens released the following information to assist families who have been affected by the fire—
Gift cards to supermarkets, fast food restaurants, convenience stores, gas stations and stores like Lowes, Walmart, Target and Home Depot are the easiest and most efficient way to help victims of the Black Forest Fire. The El Paso County Disaster Assistance Center and the Tri-Lakes Cares are both accepting gift card donations and they have case managers ensuring secure, safe and responsible delivery of help to fire victims. It was an honor to serve as co-chair of the Juneteenth event on Saturday

Thanks go to Dr. James Tucker whose belief in the continued value of Juneteenth as a celebration of emancipation day and family heritage should serve as a reminder to all of us to honor our past as it shapes our future. And to Sharon Thompson, Mary Bradfield, Bob McCombs, Jerry Grotkier, Charlie Ehler and all the other volunteers whose spent many hours helping with the GOP's float and booth. It was a great day.

You Are Invited. Re-election announcement

We all watched in near horror as the Democrats in Denver launched an all out assault on our God given rights on all fronts this last legislative session. It is now time to gear up to take them back. The 2014 campaign to reclaim Colorado officially begins locally on 13 June with this announcement. We need a strong physical showing at GOP HQ on the 13th at 5:30. The press is likely to be on hand and this is a great chance to show everyone we will fight back and to show support for these great candidates in 2014. Bring a friend and gear up for what really is the fight for Colorado.
